How to Set Up a Custom VAST Tag in FlightCast


 


1. Open the Monetization tab 0:00

  • In FlightCast, start by going to the Monetization tab.
  • This is where all Programmatic Ad Serving settings are managed.


 


2. Choose or swap ad tags for each placement 0:08

  • Under Programmatic Ad Serving, you can select which tags to use for:
  • Pre-rolls
  • Mid-rolls
  • Post-rolls
  • You can also swap out existing tags if you want to change your ad setup.

  • If you want to add a new tag option, contact FlightCast support.
  • Use either of these methods:

  • FlightCast recommends having them add the custom VAST tag for you.
  • Reason: custom VAST tags can be easy to misconfigure and are considered risky if entered incorrectly.
  • Their team will set it up for you at no extra cost.

  • A custom VAST tag lets you bring in ads from outside providers.
  • Examples mentioned include:
  • AdsWizz
  • Triton
  • Other ad sales teams that can provide a VAST tag
  • Once configured, those ads can be served into your podcast through FlightCast.

  • If you do, FlightCast can add it for you quickly and without additional cost.
