Key Performance Indicators (Top Section)


What is Total Plays?

Total Plays combines all consumption across platforms: YouTube Views + Spotify Streams + RSS Listens. This gives you the complete picture of how many times your content was consumed across all platforms in the selected time period.


What is Unique Listeners?

Unique Listeners shows the real number of individual people who consumed your content. It combines YouTube Unique Viewers, Spotify Total Audience, and RSS Unique Listeners. This is actual analytics data, not estimates. Note: Spotify data is only available when viewing all-time data.


What is Subscribers Gained?

Subscribers Gained shows the real subscriber and follower growth from your connected platforms. This includes YouTube subscribers and Spotify followers gained during the selected period.


What is Listening Hours?

Listening Hours represents the total time people spent consuming your content. It combines YouTube Watch Hours with Spotify Consumption Hours (including both foreground and background listening). This shows the total consumption time across all episodes. Note: Spotify data is only available when viewing all-time data.


What is Avg. Listen Time?

Average Listen Time is a weighted average that combines YouTube and Spotify data. It calculates: YouTube average watch duration per viewer, plus Spotify total consumption hours divided by total audience. The formula weights each platform by its audience size: ((YouTube Time × YouTube Audience) + (Spotify Time × Spotify Audience)) ÷ Total Audience. Note: Spotify data is only available when viewing all-time data.


What is Returning Listeners?

Returning Listeners shows the percentage of your audience who have listened before and came back. This is calculated from real listener behavior tracking across all platforms.


What are Listens?

Listens are RSS podcast downloads from all platforms. This excludes video views and direct streams - it's specifically podcast downloads.


What are Views?

Views are YouTube video views across all episodes. This data comes directly from YouTube Analytics.


What are Streams?

Streams are Spotify audio and video streams. This data comes directly from Spotify for Podcasters.




Show Performance Chart


What does the Show Performance chart show?

The Show Performance chart displays daily listener metrics and growth trends over time. You can view all metrics together or select individual metrics like Total Plays, Streams, Views, Listens, Unique Viewers, Subscribers, or Likes.


What is Daily Average?

Daily Average shows the average number of plays (or selected metric) per day during the selected time period.


What is Peak Day?

Peak Day shows the highest single-day number of plays (or selected metric) during the selected time period.


What does "vs Last Period" mean?

"vs Last Period" compares your current period's average to the previous period's average, showing the percentage change. This helps you see if your performance is improving or declining.




Growth & Reach Chart


What is Weekly Growth?

Weekly Growth shows the percentage change in average daily listeners between the first week and last week of your selected period. It's calculated as: ((Last 7 days average - First 7 days average) / First 7 days average) × 100. A positive number means growth, negative means decline.


What is New Listeners %?

New Listeners % shows what percentage of your listeners are experiencing your podcast for the first time during this period. It's calculated as: (Total New Listeners / Total Listeners) × 100. This data is aggregated from YouTube, Spotify, and FlightCast platforms.


What is Retention Rate?

Retention Rate shows what percentage of listeners have previously engaged with your podcast and returned during this period. It's calculated as: (Returning Listeners / Total Listeners) × 100. This is based on listener tracking across all platforms using unique identifiers.




Catalog Health Chart


What is Back Catalog Plays?

Back Catalog Plays shows the percentage of total plays that come from episodes older than 30 days. A higher percentage indicates your older content continues to perform well.


What is Evergreen Score?

Evergreen Score shows what percentage of your top 10 episodes are from your back catalog (older than 30 days). This indicates how well your older content performs compared to new releases. It's calculated as: (Back catalog episodes in top 10 / Total top 10 episodes) × 100.


What is Release Rate?

Release Rate shows the average number of new episodes you publish per week. This helps you understand your publishing frequency.




Country Distribution Map


What does the Country Distribution map show?

The Country Distribution map shows where your listeners are located around the world. When you hover over a country, you'll see:

  • Views: YouTube video views from that country
  • Listens: RSS podcast downloads from that country
  • Spotify Streams: Spotify streams from that country


The map is color-coded to show engagement levels, with darker colors indicating higher engagement.




Demographics & Traffic Insights


What does the Devices tab show?

The Devices tab shows what devices your audience uses to listen to your content. Each device shows as a percentage of total traffic.


What does the Age tab show?

The Age tab shows the age distribution of your audience. Each age range (like 18-24, 25-34, etc.) displays as a percentage of your total audience.


What does the Gender tab show?

The Gender tab shows the gender distribution of your audience. Each category displays as a percentage of your total audience.


What does the Sources tab show?

The Sources tab shows where your traffic comes from. Each source (like direct, search, social media, etc.) displays as a percentage of total referrals.


What does the YouTube tab show?

The YouTube tab shows the breakdown of YouTube traffic sources. Each source (like YouTube search, suggested videos, external websites, etc.) displays as a percentage of your YouTube traffic.




Audience Overlap Chart


What does the Audience Overlap chart show?

The Audience Overlap chart (also called Cohort Analysis) shows cross-episode listener retention. It displays what percentage of listeners who listened to one episode also listened to another episode.


  • Same Episode: Always shows 100% (self-retention)
  • Cross-Episode: Shows the percentage overlap between different episodes


For example, if Episode A shows 45% for Episode B, that means 45% of people who listened to Episode A also listened to Episode B. This helps you understand which episodes attract similar audiences and how well your content retains listeners across episodes.
