How to Create and Use a Template Episode in Flightcast


 


1. Understand what a template episode is 0:00

  • A template episode lets you reuse common episode details.
  • You can pre-fill things like:
  • Description text
  • Keywords
  • Author name
  • Other recurring fields
  • This is useful if you often use the same links or boilerplate text in your episodes.


 


2. Create a new template episode 0:12

  • In the top-left corner, click Create New Episode.
  • Select Create a New Template.
  • Once the template loads, enter a title for it.


 


3. Fill in the reusable episode details 0:20

  • Add your main episode description.
  • Include any text you commonly reuse, especially links that usually go at the bottom of your description.
  • Example reusable items:
  • “Follow me on Spotify” link
  • “Subscribe on YouTube” link
  • A few standard closing lines
  • Fill out other fields you want saved in the template, such as:
  • Author name
  • Author email
  • People/credits
  • Keywords
  • Explicit setting
  • Episode type


 


4. Let the template save automatically 0:47

  • Flightcast saves the template automatically.
  • After entering the fields you want, you do not need to manually export or publish anything.
  • The template is now ready to reuse from your dashboard.


 


5. Start a new episode from the template 1:02

  • Go back to your dashboard.
  • In the top-left corner, click Create New Episode again.
  • Under Templates, you will see the template you created.


 


6. Use the template to pre-fill a new episode 1:15

  • Click the template name to create a new episode from it.
  • The new episode will automatically start with:
  • The template title
  • The template description
  • The author and other saved settings
  • This saves time and keeps your episode setup consistent.
