How to Monetize on Flightcast

1. Understand the 4 ways to make money on Flightcast 0:00

• Flightcast offers four monetization paths:
• Run your own ads
• Run Flightcast’s ads
• Join the Spotify Partner Program
• Join the Flightcast Affiliate Program

2. Set up your own sponsored ads 0:14

• In the left sidebar, click Ads.
• Select Start a campaign.
• Add your sponsored ad creative/details.
• In this setup, your sponsor pays you directly—Flightcast is not paying you for these ads.

3. Turn on Flightcast programmatic ads 0:22

• Open any episode.
• Click Ad slots.
• Select an ad slot and turn on Programmatic ads.
• These are Flightcast-run ads, and you earn a share each time they play.
• Payout is typically $2–$5 per 1,000 ads, depending on the country of your audience.

4. Apply default ad slots across your podcast 0:49

• If you want ads enabled by default for all episodes, click Podcast in the left sidebar.
• Scroll to the bottom.
• Turn on Default ad slots for:
• Pre-roll
• Post-roll
• Set how many ads you want before and after episodes so new episodes inherit those settings.

5. Check Spotify Partner Program eligibility and monetize 1:05

• Once your Spotify streams reach the required threshold, a Monetize tab appears in Flightcast.
• If you’re eligible, you’ll see a Spotify section at the top.
• Use the button there to submit for Spotify monetization.
• If you were already monetized before moving to Flightcast, your Spotify payments now flow through Flightcast instead.

6. Connect your bank account for payouts 1:34

• Flightcast does not take a cut of Spotify or Flightcast ad revenue.
• Spotify requires payments to flow through Flightcast, but the money still belongs to you.
• Once you start earning from either source, connect your bank account in Flightcast to receive payouts.

7. Join the Flightcast Affiliate Program 1:46

• The affiliate program is available to users who have been on Flightcast for at least a little while.
• You earn 20% of every referred user’s subscription, paid monthly forever.
• The person you refer gets 10% off for their first 3 months.
• This is useful to mention in content or promotions when sharing your referral link.

8. Make sure every episode is eligible for Spotify monetization 2:10

• To earn money through Spotify, each episode needs at least one ad slot.
• Before submitting for Spotify monetization, confirm that your episodes include at least one:
• Pre-roll
• Post-roll
• Mid-roll
• Ideally, most or all episodes should have ad slots so Spotify can monetize them properly.
